    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I have abolutely loved my placement, it has definitely mde me want to apply for a graduate position here!

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • The team I was in was very close knit group and were more than welcoming when I first started and seemed very keen to have me working with them.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Every question I asked was answered to the best of the teams ability and they were always there to help me with issues and queries I had with the job, even if I did ask loads of questions!

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Never bored or felt over-run by work, my team would never give me more work until they knew I was almost finished with the previous job at hand.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Obviously due to that nature of the job I couldnt be given ultimate responsibility, however I was given enough to feel like I was a trusted part of the team and felt they were never looking over my shoulder.

    3/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • A huuge extent! I have learnt how much more beneficial it is to do a job in practice rather than just learning about it in theory, its applying the knowledge on a regular basis that makes the theory so much easier as you can think of past experience to make the most suitable decisions.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The atmosphere was generally always upbeat however there were certain times when everyone in the team knew that a lot of work had to be done in a small amount of time, so everyone cracked down and did it.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Never had a problem with the set-up, there was constant communication between the recruitment department so you always knew what was going on!

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I felt like Deloitte have invested £1,000's into me through training, travelling and accomodation. They pay internships the same as a full-time graduate so they treat you as if they want you to get the graduate job at the end so eventualy you can make them that money back in the future.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Sports and Social Club

    National Travel

    Company Parties/Events

    Working from home

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • The prospects are excellent, on averagearound 85% of the internships get a full-time graduate position after their placement with the other 15% being made up of a majority not actually wanting the job, so the odds of getting offered a graduate job after are well in your favour!

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Fantastic social life between fellow placements. As the requirement for my particular internship was the penultimate year of university, nearly everyone on the placement were around te 19-21 sort of age which meant you were morethan likely to make great friends and after a day of working and training are more than willing to meet up after and chat and socialise in general.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • In my particular office (cardiff), the cost of the area all depends on where you want, if you know the area well you can have a lowest expenditure you could imagine however if you go to the wrong areas (and by that i mean expensive) you could have a very low social life with high costs so it pays to know the area you are going to be working in for the social life.

    5/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • With my office being in Cardiff, I was very experienced with the Cardiff nightlife so I already knew the places to go on each night of the week. If you do knowthis then you can have the greatest nightlife possible (whilst working obviously)

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • With working in such a big city there are always going to be opportunities to have get involved with activites, Deloitte themselves have numerous sports teams to join, even if you have little experience in them they are more than hppy for to join in!
