    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I really enjoyed my internship, it was a good balance between work and socialising with other people on my team and I got plenty of support

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I was quite a bit younger than the people on my team but it didn't make a difference at all, I got on brilliantly with all of them and they never made be feel like I was younger or less experiences than them, although I obviously was. I felt that the work I was doing was valued and they were interested in what I was doing, both at work and out of work.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Great support, both from my team manager and my placement manager. General interest in me as a person and giving me opportunities designed to bring out the best in me, instead of me feeling like I always had to "prove myself" to them.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Some days I had to be organised to find things to do but then some days I had a lot to go through and felt I didn't have enough time. All in all, steadily busy throughout the internship, and started straight away so no initial dull or boredom at the start.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given my own project to work on which was very valued and an important piece of work. If I hadn't been there this project still would have had to be done by another member of the team so it was in no way a project simply made for an intern but a real, important piece of work, which I thought was great,.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I think getting my own project and having to manage my own time and plan efficiently will definitely help me with my upcoming honours project in my last year, but most importantly I think the people skills and team work experience I've acquired are going to be the main big thing I will take with me.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Atmosphere was nice, a lot of jokes flying about and people generally got on very well with each other. Sometimes people were busy and then they kept they head down but even then they were smiley and friendly and happy to help.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Can't fault it

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Had training both with my team and as part of the intern process, both think really benefitted me

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Flexi Time

    Subsidised Canteen

    Sports and Social Club

    Company Parties/Events

    Healthcare from home

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Really crossing my fingers that I get offered a job at the end of my internship, would love to come back on the graduate scheme.

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Yes, especially once that moved up to Edinburgh especially for the internship, there were a lot of organised events put on by interns and many met for lunch every day

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Not any worse than other cities, especially if you know where to go

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Nightlife in Edinburgh is good, lots of clubs and pubs and during August there's the festival on top of that

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • A lot of sports and social clubs exist within the company so there are plenty of opportunities to get involved in them

    4/5
