The Role
Great fun
Everyone was very nice and helpful. I was given important work to do and felt part of the team
Everyone was happy to help you if they had a spare moment
Some days busier than others but mainly busy enough for time to pass quickly
I was given my own project to work on and was assured that it was an important part of the department's future
You inevitably learn a lot about the industry and the way the bank works. Can't say the work will help me in my degree but the skills I honed will always be valuable
The Company
Everyone was very friendly. I suppose there could have been more of a team atmosphere, but I can't fault the people
We had weekly educational sessions or talks from senior management
A lot of people gave up a lot of time for us. There was also the odd free lunch/breakfast
Employment prospects in banking are not great, but if you perform well both in real terms and relative terms, there is a good chance of getting hired.
The Culture
Made a lot of good friends that I would love to keep in touch with
Central London
Lots of great pubs and bars. Shoreditch nearby - but it all comes at a price
There was the odd event but most clubs and societies seemed to be defunct in my experience
