    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I really enjoyed my work palcement with Savills. I was assigned to the residential valuation department so was lucky enough to have the opportunity to go on a number of different site inspections in addition to being involved in the report writing process

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I did feel valued by my colleagues on the whole

    3/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Support was always given when I asked for it, however it is very much a case of you are left to it unless you ask.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I was as busy as I wanted to be - which for me was always busy. I was given several little tasks and upon completing them I would ask for more which would be given to me straight away. Although it was very much up to me to ask.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given a reasonable level of responsibility given the importance of some of the projects that I was working on and the fact I had no prior property experience

    3/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Coming from a non-cognate degree with limited property knowledge I felt that I gained a lot of experience and learnt many of the fundamental skills of a surveyor.

    3/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • 3/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • 3/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • 3/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Company Parties/Events

    2/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • From what I have seen Savills would be a great company to work for. ALl the current employees seem very happy in their jobs and I believe them to be a credible organisation to work for.

    3/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • The social scene among colleagues was good and we regularly went for drinks or lunch together however the social scene among the other interns was not great despite Savills trying their best to organise things. The other interns kept themselves to themselves and viewed others as fellow competitors rather than colleagues.

    2/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Mayfair is expensive - but it was to be expected.

    2/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • I had a couple of really good nights out - although they were not cheap!

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • We had a number of talks from other departments and a couple of drinks events to attend but not really.
