  • Everyone extremely friendly and willing to delegate - general consensus that once you have got this far, you are good enough to be given responsibility and respect.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Extremely supportive and helpful and willing to take time out to explain and answer questions.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Almost always had something to do...if not there is so much useful info on their intranet site that there is no need to ever be doing nothing.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Good responsibility and varied work.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Very busy people with lots to do some naturally some stress - but cake wednesdays and friday drinks and an incredible subsidised staff restaurant balance that out fairly well.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Very.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Loads of useful talks and workshops - know a lot more now than I did when I arrived! Principals/trainee buddies are definitely instructed to focus on your development and skills - appraisals are a useful tool to give feedback on positives and negatives of general performance.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    Sports and Social Club

    Subsidised/Company Gym

    Company Parties/Events

    5/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Excellent retention rate of vac schemers for training contracts, and trainees for post-qualification. However, many do not tend to stay beyond a couple of years post-qualification...although obviously many people do stay and enjoy it despite long hours.

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Good mix of people - generally very sociable.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Central London - not cheap - however Linklaters put on so many social events that they spend far more money than we do!

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Central London, lots to do.

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Up to the individual vac schemer to get involved but it is made clear that the option is there to get involved from the outset. A large number of activities put on outside of work for vac schemers (cookery course, cocktail making, treasure hunt, city tour, dinners, lunches and more - very busy)

    5/5
