The Role
I really enjoyed working here so much - I didn't want to leave!
We had regular one to one catch ups for an hour every week, which meant that if I was confused or needed support on anything, I could ask then, instead of infront of the whole office!
Really busy during the day which meant that I didn't get bored or demotivated, but also not so much work that I couldn't cope which meant that I could complete work set by the University for my course.
At the start I needed help because I didn't 'know the ropes' but by the end I was abnle to run my own event by myself!
I learnt so much on my placement that will give me great help for my final year - I learnt confidence, telephone skills, time management and team work to say the least!
The Company
It was a great office to work in, fun but also quiet when we needed to work.
Really well - I had a mentor who was a member of the department but not in my close team, which meant that if I had work troubles or study issues I could talk to them. It was also great because I was able to work with other people on a placement too, which meant that i didn't feel so 'alone'.
I was able to undertake all the training courses offered by Plymouth University from computer training to presentation training and all of it was free - not only will it look great on my CV but it has given me real skills for life.

At the moment the University is going through a re-structure so I'm not too sure on the future. I have finish my placement but am currently doing temp work over the summer until I start University again which is great!
The Culture
I was able to work with other placement students and spent time with them on lunches, as well as other colleagues. We had a Christmas away day, birthday celebrations and a team-away day where we went bowling!
There are so many things to do in Plymouth from bowling, to using some of the lovely places to eat out - if you want to spend a lot you can, if you don't, you don;t have to!
It was good - I live about an hour away from Plymouth so I can't really comment too much.
As it's a University tehre are loads of volunteering opportunies open to you, but also a football team open to staff and students.
