Responsibilities
I was given a surprising amount of responsibility (more than I anticipated). The work I do goes all around government, to senior officials and ministers. I was given a fair amount of creative license to do the work in the way I thought was best.
Support & Guidance
There was a HUGE amount of support and guidance from my line manager, my team and others. They are extremely supportive and help you wherever needed.
Culture
Very supportive culture. Very exciting atmosphere given that it is government and there are always interesting things happening. It is a very large organisation so can sometimes feel a bit disconnected and that there are so many people doing different things.
Your Impressions
I really enjoyed it. If I was to go back I would do it all over again.
Yes
They are very supportive in interviews. Make sure you're able to explain concepts clearly in plain English and break things down so they are easy to understand. They're not looking for someone with lots of expert detailed knowledge on economic models.
