Overview
My day to day tasks involves talking to the team and ensuring that they're up to speed on documenting their deliveries, creating PowerPoint presentations, using Microsoft excel to build spreadsheets, as well as documenting processes that goes on within my teams work. I also attend meetings throughout the day and have an extracurricular group that I joined at the company which I dedicate some of my daily time towards.
Skills
I have developed my presentation, leadership, communication, time management and team work skills!
Responsibilities
I was given a medium level of responsibility throughout my placement as I wasn't put on many projects that greatly affect the business of the company, however, I still had my own team projects which I was responsible for.
Support & Guidance
I think the level of support and guidance was good as I was always able to ask my manager for guidance if needed, as well as other colleagues, IP friends, and it was easy to network within the company so I could go to them for guidance.
Culture
The company culture was for the most part lovely however, the company was going through a very large restructure which took months to complete and involved a lot of people loosing their jobs. This created an atmosphere of unease and upset for a while as the restructure took so long and left full-time employees nervous about whether they were going to lose their jobs or not. Despite this, the culture of the company itself was great.
Your Impressions
I really loved my time on placement, it was a great experience and taster of the working world. I got to meet so many new people, make lots of friends, there were always opportunities to do extracurricular activities within the company and I really liked my team.
