Overview
My role on a day-to-day basis includes hosting weekly status meetings which entails updating the project plan on the project management software we use and gathering outstanding tasks updates from the relevant stakeholders. In addition, it would include updating different reports and sending these to the project leads for them to update. The aim of the role is to ensure stakeholder alignments on the current and future tasks to ensure we are on track to delivery against the deadlines we have.
Skills
Yes, this role has really help me develop my project management capabilities including how to manage different projects and work with different stakeholders. My confidence has strengthen throughout this internship as I began hosting and running different meetings.
Responsibilities
I was given a good amount of responsibility and due to the nature of the high stakes project, I was always working with another program manager where I could seek for help or support when I needed.
Support & Guidance
Through this internship I felt very supported by my manager as well as the team members on my teams. I felt like I could always reach out for help and not be afraid to ask.
Culture
Hilton work culture and hospitality is amazing! There were always different learning opportunities around in the office and the interns had an opportunity to get together every quarter. This is definitely something I will miss a lot!
