The Role
I have thoroughly enjoyed my years internship with Warner Bros. It has been a great year with me gaining invaluable experience and some great memories.
I was instantly welcomed into the team and I have always felt a welcomed and respected member of both my direct team and the rest of the WB employees.
Warner Bros have a great internship initiative which has lead to all of the members of staff being very friendly and welcoming of any and all questions. There is always someone you can turn to if you are in need of some support or guidance on a project.
Workload can vary depending on the time of the year. For example, our busiest period is during Q4 (Oct-Dec) as this is when we are releasing the majority of our titles. However, even during the "quieter" time periods, there is still plenty of work to get through so you should rarely ever be bored or be feeling unproductive.
I feel like i was given a lot of responsibility during my placement. I have completed many pieces of work on my own from start to finish which has been at the request of some very senior WB employees and i am regularly left to manage my own workload with little supervision.
As mentioned previously, i feel this placement experience has been invaluable to me as i feel it has developed many different skills that i feel has made me into a more employable individual. Throughout the year there has been many different learning opportunities that have all combined to make it a very productive year and I believe that if you make the most of the presented opportunities both your work productivity and your degree studies will all be enhanced.
The Company
The atmosphere can be quite focused, however, there can be quite frequent "social breaks" where colleagues talk about non-work related topics.
The work placement was really well organised and the whole year is based around the individual intern getting the most out of their year with the company.
I feel the company invested quite a lot in myself and the other interns as many of us arrived at the company quite untrained and with little experience. WB provided me with a place on an independent excel course in my first month at work as well as the constant training i get from my surrounding colleagues.

Although Warner Bros. do not have a graduate scheme in place, they have quite a good record of re-hiring previous interns if a suitable permanent role opens up so if you do a good job in your year here you never know!!
The Culture
There was a core group of interns who have all become quite close friends outside of work. However, this depends on the group of interns and your personality and interests, but everyone is really friendly so there is always the opportunity to get involved with whatever is going on.
This again depends on where you want to live and how well you want to live. I lived in zone 2 which ended up being the 2nd cheapest area to live out of all of the areas. London can be expensive, but there are many ways of reducing your living/social costs if you wanted to.
There are a few pubs and bars around work and working in central london you are only a 10 minute walk from convent garden and other areas that might be slightly busier on an evening after work.
Again, this depends on how much you want to get involved in but yes there are several different activities to get involved with after work if you wish to do so.
