    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I have had an amazing year at Warner Bros. It is so much more than I could ever have imagined I would get out of a placement year. The company, team and projects I have worked on and with have been brilliant.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • The colleagues in my immediate team and other departments have been a great support this year. The intern scheme at Warner Bros is so well established that there are always people there willing to help/advise and share their experiences with you no matter what level of the organisation you are at. The team in which I have worked have been incredible - you spend so much time with each other and they are a constant support throughout the year. From my first week I felt valued and part of the team and this has grown over the year.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My manager and the rest of the team have been a great support this year. Whether it be sharing their knowledge and experiences or helping when something has come up that I have not be sure how to handle.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I was always busy with lots to do whether it be working on my own projects or assisting other team members with theirs. I found that certain times of the year were a lot busier than others especially when we had big releases coming up but I was never lacking work or completely overwhelmed with too much to do. With great support from my team and quickly learning how to manage my workload I had a good balance and was always working on a variety of projects.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Over the year the level of responsibility I was given increased considerably. I was constantly being given further more to do and in my last few months was looking after the publicity for my own titles with guidance from the rest of the team. I was incredibly lucky to be given such responsibility and a chance to learn first hand what goes into a campaign and the end result.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Without a doubt this year working at Warner Bros has set me up with skills/experience/knowledge and confidence which I believe will help me enormously in my future studies and career.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The atmosphere in the office is great! It is very relaxed and informal but at the same time easy to get on with your work and get the job done. It is a very creative atmosphere and with such an open layout I constantly felt involved with the rest of the team even when everyone is working on different things.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The internship scheme at Warner Bros is well organised. With years of experience the various teams are use to adapting to new interns and immediately bringing them onboard to help with projects and join the team.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • There are several intern training sessions throughout the year organised by the HR department. I was also lucky enough to be offered additional training from my team and visited some of the external agencies that we work with to get a good idea of the different elements that contribute to our campaigns.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Flexi Time

    Subsidised Canteen

    Subsidised/Company Gym

    Company Parties/Events

    Staff Sales/Staff Shop

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Warner Bros are constantly expanding and within the organisation several previous interns have returned to work for the company.

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • With so many interns working at WB it was definitely easier to settle in. We had a good group that went out for dinner, drinks and theatre trips on a regular basis which was great! Throughout the year we had several opportunities to socialise as a team whether it be over a birthday lunch or company meetings.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • London is expensive and I definitely noticed this coming from university life. My rent more than doubled and buying lunch out normally costs more than dinner in. However there were several perks to the job and we were always treated when we had company meetings and work events.

    1/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • London has such a variety of nightlife and although expensive the atmosphere is brilliant.

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There were opportunities throughout the year to get involved in other events linked to WB but not directly our team. Other than that we often arranged our own outings as interns and enjoyed London life while we could.

    2/5
