    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I had a great time during my placement. The role, department and social scene with other interns were all great.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I felt valued by my colleagues – as the year went on I was given increased responsibility and more challenging tasks. I was treated as a real member of the team which I loved.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I was given a huge amount of support and guidance during my placement year. I had weekly meetings with my manager to discuss my workload. Warner Bros. also run PPR’s throughout the year, giving you a great opportunity to highlight any areas you want to get more involved. Everyone in the team was approachable and willing to help so support was always there!

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I was VERY busy during the assessment centres stage of the Intern Recruitment process. However the workload was manageable throughout the rest of the year. There are always new projects to get involved with, but you can always time to have a laugh too!

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was responsible for all aspects of Intern Recruitment for 2012/13 Scheme. My responsibilities stretched throughout the whole process from getting vacancies online through to preparing the contracts for the new interns. I also got to organise lots of assessment centres and interview days which was great. Getting to meet lots of new people and work closely with a variety of departments was a great experience. I was also responsible for all aspects to do with temporary workers within the business. This involved working closely with our Managed service provider.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • There is a training programme designed especially for the Interns covering skills from presentation skills to understanding yourself and others which will hopefully help in my career. I have also learnt how to manage my time so much better – this should help when I return to University.
