    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I really enjoyed my placement. I was given interesting projects to work on and I got to work and interact with talented people both interns and employees.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I always felt appreciated even for the smallest task that I did. In addition I had an impression that my team believed in my strength and ability to produce a good work more then I did. Another good point was that despite the fact that my level of work experience and knowledge was significantly lower then any of my team members, my colleagues always asked my opinion on the project that we were working on and made sure that I understood why this or that decision has been made. Working with my colleagues not only helped me to learn from them, but also increased my self esteem.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My manager and supervisor as well as other members of the team were always happy to provide help and guidance. I was able to clarify on my tasks during regular one on one meetings with my manager and supervisor as well as I could ask for help at any other time. In addition any member of my team was happy to help me. My team also supported me in my personal problems that occurred outside of work.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • My workload was just right for me and it was relatively stable. Although at times especially between projects I did have more free time then usual, if I informed my manager or supervisor that I wanted more work most of the time they were able to find me something. They also ensured that I was doing the work that I really wanted and was interested to do.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Everything that I was working on was real life projects, software applications that when deployed were used by the customers, and therefore I had to ensure to the best of my ability that the software solutions were bug free and elegantly coded.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The skills that I gained will certainly help me in my degree. They will also help me in my further career development and every day life.

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • This is a very great place to work in and if you do possess skills necessary to work in this company there is a good chance that you might be working there. I have been given guidance on the skills that I needed to develop as well as a lot of opportunity to actually develop them but I was a bit lazy . Thus its entirely up to you to become a perfect candidate for hire

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There were lots of great parties organized by interns or the company

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Every thing was relatively cheap

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • I did not go out a lot but my fellow students really loved it. Swindon however does not have a lot of places to go out at night. If you are a fan of clubs you will not find any good ones here except for Liquid and probably Walkabout
