The Role
Amazing opportunities and an incredibly friendly company.
All colleagues were very supportive and looked out for me during my time.
Managers looked out for me, made sure I was happy and that I was enjoying the work I was given.
Sometimes work level dropped to almost nothing for a couple of days but always picked up quickly. Other times there was a constant rush of getting work done to project deadlines.
During part of my placement I was made the Technical Lead on a small project with me being able to make the decisions or push through ideas as well as writing code that went onto an operational system.
It gave me a brilliant introduction to working in the industry environment as well as boosting my technical knowledge substantially.
The Company
Really good team spirits within project teams, really warm, community environment with the constant feel that you were valued.
Very well run scheme, was flexible and happy to take feedback and make changes for subsequent years, we were given the opportunity to help improve the scheme further.
The company provided a large set of training courses for us as well as providing very detailed feedback in mid-year and end of year reviews.

Working from home
Not a company that I will want to be working at in the future but only because it's not the area I want to be working in. If you can get a job with NATS I can guarantee you'll enjoy it greatly and have a solid career.
The Culture
Very good community within the placement students, group is the perfect size to allow a really strong social side to develop.
Living and travel costs are quite pricey in the area, however other costs aren't bad.
Both Portsmout & Southampton are nearby and have a really good nightlife.
Local area is quite quiet but company does have some clubs within it.
