    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • Our day always began with a short standup meeting where we were being assigned task for the day and talked about our team progress. The rest of the day was flexible with time spending on working on a task towards our team project, writing a code and participating in the meetings.

  • Yes, I feel like a developed a lot my technical skills like learning new programming languages, environments or tools. I also learnt more about how the team work in an agile scheme and I developed my soft skills like communication or teamwork.

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • We were given quite a lot of responsibility in working on our project independent from other engineers.

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • I received a lot of support from seniors engineers in our team, they were always happy to help. We also were assigned to buddy groups with graduates who were super friendly and willing to answer any questions. However, I was lacking a bit of guidance from line manager on how exactly our project should look like and what we should do.

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • The atmosphere was very good and friendly, company was organising a lot of social and additional meetings where we could meet a lot of other employees and interns. There is a wide availability of networks inside the company as well as many charity activities.

  • I very enjoyed my internship, I learned a lot during that time and feel a lot of more confident with the knowledge I have now. I was part of a very good team and I feel that this was a great opportunity to boost my career.

  • Do not stress before interview and day one. Remember to revisit the test you done before the technical interview. During the internship, do not worry if you know less than other interns but just keeping working at your own pace and try to learn as much as you can.
