  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • Yes, you are expected to work autonomously and independlty in the lab post training giving me further confidence to problem solve independently and recognise where it is appropriate to escalate

  • A fair amount, there was a signifciant training period of around 4 weeks where there are specific sessions for each technique but developing competence in a technique could have been better supported

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • No blame culture however it is quite a stressful working enviroment due to very tight deadlines, but there is good team dynam ics

    Your Impressions

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • It has been by far the most challeniging academic year, trying to balance a full time job whilst doing uni work, but it has led to many accomplishments, so I'd say bitter sweet.

  • 8. What advice would you give to others applying to AstraZeneca
  • Be prepared to work very hard if you are in your final year at uni on a year in industry. But as a company, the culture and values is great and take a very modern approach to solving problems, as well as inclusion and diversity and also teaching/mentoring
