    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • Management of current projects and open topics, as well as support for some projects that are currently running. These usually were related to Convivio, an application the field sales teams used across the region

    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • The main skill I developed would be communication. That covers a large range of topics, such as open and honest discussions within your team, co-ordination of different IT teams to deliver a solution at the same time, and communicating with different people from different cultures.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • A great amount of responsibility - much more than I imagined, and much more than other interns I know at other companies. I was able to manage my own projects from start to finish. Of course, my team were available for help if I ever needed it, but apart from this I was allowed to work independently

  • Please rate how meaningful the work you were doing was

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • As much as I needed. I think there can definitely be too much support in a placement year, but I was allowed to make my own decisions and learn from them if I was wrong, which I appreciated as much as the support. Help was always available from anyone when necessary

  • How would you rate the support and guidance from your line manager?
  • 5/5

  • How would you rate the support and guidance from the wider team?
  • 5/5

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • The company talks a lot about being a 'Convivial' company, but these are honestly not empty words. Everyone I have met at the company has been very friendly, and is always ready for a chat, even at the most senior levels of the company. You can always here laughing and conversation around the office, but at the same time the company is still very successful

  • How would you rate the inclusiveness of the culture?

  • How would you rate the social opportunities?

  • How would you rate the charity, sustainability and corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives?

    Your Impressions

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • Everyone I worked with at my internship made the whole experience so enjoyable - my team, the other interns, and the wider company as well. The social events, such as the bar every Thursday and the company events, allows you to interact with people you never would normally which I appreciated. I would 100% work within Pernod Ricard again, I believe the work and the environment is always so exciting

  • 7. Would you recommend Pernod Ricard to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 8. What advice would you give to others applying to Pernod Ricard
  • To be yourself - if you are faking who you truly are at the company the whole time, then obviously you will not enjoy it. There are so many different types of people at the company, that you will not be treated differently depending on if you are more or less sociable. I think that both the success of the company and conviviality could be more advertised.
