    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • I provide support to our schools, experienced hire, social media, and digital teams in helping to create engaging brand attraction strategies and deliver them into the market. Day to day activities include creating and scheduling social media posts, working with supplier to have our jobs listed on their sites, working on a podcast that talks about careers advice, pulling data around success of campaigns and drawing up reports for stakeholders.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • Yes - not in the early period of my experience but that is because i was training and learning new systems so I was given great guidance and assistance by my career coach, but once i felt comfortable enough with systems and how to do my job correctly I was left to be responsible for all aspects of my role. I was also trusted to conduct social listening and report back to the business

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • I was constantly given support & guidance by not only my manager, but also the rest of my team. I had weekly meetings with my manager (career coach) as well as lots of people in my team who were always available to provide me with a different outlook on things.

  • How would you rate the support and guidance from the wider team?

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • Much better than I could have imagined. The company culture makes you feel like they truly care and value you as employees. They always try and keep employees happy which can create a good working environment. Sometimes the Big 4 get a hard time with people assuming that you're just a number in a big company but I would say that the company truly makes you feel like you add value

    Your Impressions

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • My placement was far more enjoyable than I imagined it to be. Before i started i thought i would be bored and tired and that I would perhaps not enjoy it that much, but the team I worked in, the people I worked with, and the work I did meant that this job and this placement year was something I'd repeat and i'd urge people thinking about this year to do it

  • 7. Would you recommend PwC to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 8. What advice would you give to others applying to PwC
  • Not to be afraid because it is a big company. So many people were in the same boat when they started at the firm. Working in a big firm of course does have its downsides, but is an experience that you won't forget. The opportunity to network with interesting and highly successful and driven people is an opportunity that shouldn't be turned down
