    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • I am responsible for the majority of our departments reporting on our performance and activity. This includes collecting and consolidating data and making and changes that are needed to improve any of our reports. Alongside this I manage the CRM inbox to deal with any Queries we receive.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • One of the main skills I have developed is Excel. My role is heavily reliant on excel and use it on a daily basis which has meant I have developed my knowledge on using complicated formulas, creating tables and setting up pivots. I have also developed my communication skills through working with multiple individuals across the business.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • One of the main things I enjoyed about the role was the level of responsibility I was given as an intern. From the start of my placement I was given responsibility of creating various reports and dealing with various queries from our dealer network. I was then able to build and develop my responsibility through the year which really helped me to feel valued within the role.

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • The support and guidance I received from the company was exceptional. For a large part of my time we was working from home which I would have thought affected the level of support however this was not the case, If I was unsure on anything I was given the correct guidance. There was lots of various department insights and training at the start of the placement which I think were very useful as I got a greater understanding of the company.

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • The company culture and atmosphere was great. I really enjoyed coming into the office as everyone was very friendly and welcoming. The company put a lot of effort in at a tough time due to the pandemic to put on as many social events as possible whilst setting up virtual quizzes and activities which I really appreciated.

    Your Impressions

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • I have really enjoyed my placement and it has exceeded my expectations. The people here are what make RCI such an enjoyable company to be working for, everyone is so friendly and helpful which made me feel very comfortable at the company. During my time at RCI I feel I have developed some very valuable key skills which will help me in the future and I feel I have really grown in confidence whilst being here. I have been extremely lucky to spend my placement year at RCI and I am very grateful that I have been asked to return on the graduate scheme once I have completed my degree.
