Overview
Testing client documents to ensure they are true and accurate through a process of tests on Excel mainly and through conversations with the clients.
Skills
Yes, I have developed my communication with people much older and more experienced than myself as you have to be able to question the documentation they have provided you with. I have also become extremely proficient with Excel.
Responsibilities
Yes! I took on a range of areas of the audit that were fundamental to a companies accounts. I was expected to conduct this work myself and complete it on time.
Support & Guidance
As much as I needed. There were always people I could talk to or communicate with either on my team or beyond. PwC were very good at providing you with a network of support.
Culture
Very relaxed, PwC tries to create a culture that is extremely open and friendly. There was never a clear hierarchy of who you could and couldn't speak to or chat with. I never felt out of place as the culture is very diverse and modern.
Your Impressions
I loved working for PwC as a company. They were exceptional at making you feel valued within one of the largest companies in the UK. I personally did not enjoy the job I was doing however. It gave me fantastic exposure and experience but I want to do something other than Audit going forward.
Yes
Show your actual self, be very friendly and open and take initiative in all the application stages.
