    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • Global Brands Undergraduate, this involves getting involved in a wide range of business activities from supply chain issues, to generating patient and healthcare professional assets including websites and leaflets, market research, leasing with legal colleagues and other tasks. I have a vast range of responsibilities that has massively increased since the beginning of my placement where I didn't know anything about the pharma industry. I regularly communicate with internal colleagues, customers and agencies.

    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • Pfizer provided a marketing masterclass in which we learnt about marketing, the pharmaceutical industry and Pfizer. There is also a lot of training around the pharmaceutical industry given to you in the first two months which can be overwhelming but Pfizer were amazing and understanding, helping wherever possible. • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • Yes, a lot. I have project managed two tasks and I am frequently asked to deal with situations which my manager expects me (although he is extremely useful and kind if not) to deal with myself. I have been given responsibility from my manager to liaise with global and I do not feel like an intern but yet like a full time colleague.

  • Colleagues at Pfizer could not be more friendly and helpful. I have never experienced such a friendly work environment. I feel I can reach out to my manager and wider team at any point if I want/need to and I know he will help me or find someone who can help me. Being a global business, there is also a lot of support and resources that are available for colleagues

  • Truly incredible. Every colleague really does believe in Pfizer's values and they are reflected in their personalities. I have received many hampers on placement and There are groups that can be joined such as LGBT and diversity group that colleagues can get stuck into.
