    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
  • There was a schedule for each of the three days which broadly involved a networking session in the morning with other interns, followed by an insight into an area of Fidelity's business (including research for equity, credit and multi-asset research), and finally a case study where we would present our opinion on investing in a stock, bond or alternative.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes, I developed my research and teamwork skills, particularly in relation to investing. I also learnt some new technical skills by seeing how a leading firm like Fidelity makes it investment decisions.

    Business Insight

  • 3. What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
  • It was very insightful and informative to hear from people currently working in different roles. It made the different options for roles and what it would be like to work for Fidelity very clear, and was extremely helpful when considering potential future career options

    Culture

  • 4. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • Very positive - people seemed very happy to be working there and to be speaking to interns about their career paths and insights. There was also a good dynamic between employees.

    Your Impressions

  • 5. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • I enjoyed the insight very much. I also undertook other asset/investment management shortly before and after this insight, and Fidelity's greatly surpassed them. It made me feel much more positive about Fidelity, the people working there, and the potential to pursue a career there
