    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
  • Virtual programme this year. The spring programme consisted of a variety of talks given by a wide range of different people. These included talks introducing us to the different parts of R&co Global Advisory teams, as well as a training session on corporate finance and investment banking. In addition, we had the opportunity to participate in a networking session and have a virtual coffee with our buddies. During the week, we had to work on a presentation in order to present it to a panel of senior bankers on the final day.

    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Overall, the programme helped me to improve my own professional skills and provided a base on corporate finance technical skills. One of the skills that the programme helped me to develop was teamwork. Throughout the programme, we were tasked with presenting a fictional transaction. This allowed me to work in a team with other people and develop my teamwork and communication skills. It also helped me to improve my presentation skills as well as time management.

    Business Insight

  • 3. What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
  • The presentations made during the week were all very well detailed. We had a pretty good picture of all the R&Co activities (global advisory, equity advisory, debt advisory, wealth management...). Everything was clear on every job and position available. We also had the opportunity to ask any question we wanted as well as interacting with analysts, associates and getting their mail to contact them later if we had any other concern. It was really helpful.

    Culture

  • 4. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • I feel like the culture is what kept all the panellists we had during the week at Rothschild during so long. Because of the family culture R&co has a long-term vision and really cares about employees at least it's what I felt from everyone there. I think the fact that the different teams are smaller compared to other banks/advisory boutiques also play a role in this, so the general atmosphere seemed really good. There is also a specific team dedicated to the well-being at Rothschild and it comforted me in believing that the atmosphere was indeed warm.

    Your Impressions

  • 5. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • I really appreciated Spring Week, everything was clear and well presented, the HR teams were always present to answer our questions and it was the same for the other teams (Global Advisory, Equity Advisory,...). We felt listened to and above all we learnt a lot whether it was through the presentations or the exercises we did.
