Spring Intern Review

Had the chance to interact with bankers from all levels across the various business areas through a series of sessions. These sessions ranged from listening to presentations, real-life case studies, networking opportunities, and Q&A panels. We were also assigned an analyst buddy to help navigate us through the week. Additionally, we were assigned a group project to work on simultaneously throughout the week.

Yes, I have improved my presentation skills from the successful completion of the group project whereby we had to present to a panel of bankers. Increased my understanding & grasp of the investment banking industry, alongside increasing my assessment centre skills.

Extremely interesting. Learning about Rothschild's 200+ year history from the dedicated Archives team, to specific talks from senior management across all business divisions provided me with a holistic understanding of the firm's core business and structure.

Very collaborative & encouraging. There is a sense of pride & loyalty amongst the company representatives and the speakers were extremely friendly in answering all questions posed to them, and responding to any follow-up emails/messages. Wherever possible, the speakers would also stay after the session had concluded to ensure no questions were left unanswered.

The insight was an enriching & invaluable experience, providing the attendees with substantial skills/information to increase the probability of gaining a summer internship & how to maximize further opportunities. As a result, I am well-positioned to build on my current knowledge of the firm/industry and feel well-equipped to submit a competitive application for the summer internship.

Whilst there, use the time to ask valuable questions that are insightful and cannot be found easily on google. I would also recommend utilizing the networking sessions as a medium for gaining excellent advice regarding careers, future prospects, banking life & the industry.
