Overview
The Scheme was really insightful. The Early Careers Team went above and beyond to make the experience enjoyable, and made you feel incredibly welcomed. After the initial welcome for the first day, we met with our Supervisors and were tasked with reading, research and typical trainee tasks. There is plenty of opportunities to network with other Associates and Trainees.
Skills
I have learnt a wealth of information on a new area of law that have encountered, including how to write for a tailored client. I also developed my written communication and networking skills.
Business Insight
It was thorough, but manageable. The firm really want you to understand every part of their organisation, and welcome you to reach out to other parts of the firm throughout your scheme. It was really useful to have a Training Contract session also, to see the exact timeline of your time as a Future Trainee, all the way through until Qualification.
Culture
Everyone is incredibly friendly, kind and considerate. I felt extremely welcomed, and as if I have always worked here. Nothing is too much trouble for anyone, and you do not feel silly asking any question. I felt comfortable from the minute I picked up my visitor pass.
Your Impressions
The most enjoyable part of the insight is feeling valued. As a Winter Vacation Scheme Student I felt important to the firm, and this has really confirmed my interests in pursuing a career at Clyde & Co. I feel as if I have found somewhere that I belong.
Yes
Do your research, understand the sector focused approach of the firm, and know why you want to work at Clyde & Co. More so than anything, just be your authentic genuine self and commit time to the application process. If you can put the time in now, it will be incredibly rewarding. The Assessment Centre and Interviewing process is very welcoming and friendly. As mentioned previously, it also opens up the comfortable arena to ask any questions that you may have at anytime.
