My role involved attending presentations, workshops and working on various tasks. During my time on the scheme I completed a timed assessed research exercise and a non-assessed team work project. I also had the chance to speak to a number of people across the firm both formally and informally
I developed my presentation skills and my legal writing skills.
We were not given real work given the virtual nature of the scheme. However, we were given the opportunity to interview a number of people across the firm as part of our team project.
The graduate recruitment team was amazing in ensuring that we all had a good experience. I had catch up calls with my supervisor and my trainee buddy which were a source of great support during the scheme.
The vacation scheme confirmed that A&O truly is a firm where everyone's input is valued regardless of seniority and a firm where entrepreneurship is encouraged. Everyone was supportive, down to earth, and I did not feel a sense of competition among the vac-schemers.
I absolutely loved my time with A&O - I did not want the scheme to end! I had various TC offers but ended up choosing A&O.
