As a candidate consultant I was required to liaise with relevant departments to discuss current jobs and positions available. From this, I created adverts and shortlisted suitable candidates. Due to Covid, all interviews were on the phone and once the right candidates were found I would register them and begin collecting the require documents.
The placement made me much more adaptable as I took on a variety of roles within Randstad, this gave me an understanding of different areas of the business. It also developed my communication and organisation skills.
Throughout the placement I was treated the same as any other staff. Managers would offer extra responsibilities and push you out of your comfort zone, whilst also being understanding if there was too much pressure.
From the start of the placement, the learning and development team provided support creating a group with all the other placement students and weekly catch ups to check in on our progress and wellbeing. There were also weekly 121 calls with your manager, providing the opportunity to raise any issues.
There was a competitive but encouraging company culture and regular team games/ social activities.
The placement was demanding at times but hard work was rewarded through bonuses, time off and other various vouchers etc. Everyone was always friendly and made it a fun place to work.
