    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • - Managing and developing content for a range of channels, including the employee app, intranet and digital signage - Editing and publishing the ‘Weekly Round Up’ - Streamlining existing processes through innovative ideas and supporting knowledge share across the department - Planning, organising and executing campaigns and events such as the plant’s 20th anniversary celebrations - Leading the Alzheimer’s Society charity partnership – creating awareness and engagement - Escorting photographers, film crews and contractors on site

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • When working as a BMW Group Intern, you are very much part of the team. You do a real job with real responsibilities - not just ‘the intern’. I lead campaigns and events and was given as many opportunities as possible. You feel a valued member of the team.

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • Lots of support and guidance was received throughout my placement year. My manager went above and beyond to give me as many opportunities as possible. I was also helped with my academic studies, with my manager often working out of hours to support me and my studies.

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • Both the atmosphere and culture was very inclusive and i felt valued as an individual. There was lots of camaraderie within the team and I thoroughly enjoyed each day of my BMW Group experience.

    Your Impressions

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • My internship was the best experience I could have wished for. I developed personally, academically and a strong sense of how to do business. I enjoyed working for such an innovative organisation and cannot reiterate how valued the work I was doing felt. I would love to work for BMW Group again if the opportunity presents itself.

  • Read the job description thoroughly, try and demonstrate how you have the skills and qualities required for the position using past/current experiences. Prepare to get fully involved and ‘stuck in’ as you will be working a real job with real responsibilities.
