On a day to day, I would serve customers that have booked to come into the branch and get them in their vehicles and delivering to those that have requested delivery. Along with this we would get some cars collected to get them back and ready to rent again. When in the office, I would be taking or making phone calls for new reservations and getting them ready and booked in for rental.
I have now learnt and consistently been able to run the operations of the branch by planning the fleet and logistical movements of personnel for the day. I have also developed my customer service skills which is reflected in our area customer service competition and my sales too as I have always been in the green for our area sales competition and finished 2nd place last month. I can also manage vehicle maintenance effectively too, ensuring cars are safe to rent and quickly available to be able to make money.
For 5 months, I was the lone Out Of Hours agent. This gave me the responsibility and autonomy to make decisions by myself and not only deliver customer service, but deliver transport solutions for customers who have broken down and need to get mobile. Doing this helped strongly with my development and has enabled me to be in a position of where I am now where I have been tasked some days to be in charge of my branch's operations.
One of our founding values is "Our doors are always open". This resonates to every single employee as I was able to speak to any on of my peers in the company and get a lot of support and guidance throughout the Internship. The management team are really supportive and are always there for you to help. Whenever some situations would arise, we would work together to help resolve them. Enterprise is like Hogwarts, "Help will always be given to those who ask for it" (Albus Dumbledore).
The culture is so amazing. You would instantly become friends and build relationships with all of your colleagues in your area. The group chats were always a laugh and the events that would be hosted and would go to were so fun. They also understand others cultural needs and requirements too. With myself being a man of religion, I have been able to have time off whenever I need to for religious events and commerations.
I really enjoyed the internship as you get a healthy balance of being in the office and being out on the road delivering and collecting cars or even greeting with customers you're picking up or building relationships with dealerships and body shops. The culture of being a fun place to work is displayed with all of your peers, it is so easy to get on with other colleagues and have fun too. From hearing about it from my referral and friends that worked for the coming, it totally exceeded my expectations and glad after my part time internship, I decided to choose Enterprise Rent-A-Car as the organisation to do my industrial placement.
