  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • I was tasked with setting up virtual training workshops for the sales community across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. I co-managed the Zunos application tool, including: - the management of course uploads and translation uploads. - maximizing the value of the application to enhance engagement in the sales community. Any other extra tasks or assignments that were given to me.

  • - Become highly proficient with Microsoft Teams, Powerpoint, and Word. - Developed my networking skills by connecting with people across EMEA. - Improved my time-management skills when balancing and prioritizing tasks. - Improved my presentation skills.

  • I was given great responsibility and was tasked with managing my own tasks and projects on a regular basis and from quite early on.

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • Quite a lot! I received training from the intern programme on key skills and was given the opportunity to reflect on this in my day-to-day job as well as in the group project I was tasked with as part of the intern programme.

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • Brilliant! I only worked from home, but I feel like I made a really meaningful connection with the teams I worked with. The vast majority of people are friendly and always there to help if you have any questions or queries. The company, in general, has really good morals that are clearly not just for show as it is reflected in day-to-day business.

    Your Impressions

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • I really enjoyed my placement despite it being completely remote. Although I worked from my bedroom, I feel as though I learned a lot and networked with loads of people that I am still in contact with now. I would strongly recommend a placement with Eaton, but you have to be prepared to work hard and put yourself out there.

  • 8. What advice would you give to others applying to Eaton
  • Don't be afraid to stand up for what you believe in, it is a culture where you are heard and listened to. That may not always mean you are right, but most often than not you will learn from peers' feedback. Do your research about the company too. Without sounding too cringe, just be yourself.
