    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • Communicate with the team Fulfill the tasks that I'm assigned each sprint (refreshed every 2 weeks). Give feedback every day during the daily sprint. Come up with new ideas to solve engineering problems. Propose improvements for existing projects Access resources needed for developing the applications Read the documentation of dependent projects Write technical documentation for my own project Follow online courses to develop my skills and learn new ones Have fun while doing all those tasks

    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • I've learned new skills and developed my existing skills. I have improved my technology stack with a lot of new technologies that I haven't worked before. Added new hard skills such as programming languages, tools used for engineering, design practices. Improved my existing soft skills: communication, teamwork, leadership, asking for feedback whenever that's needed and also giving feedback. I've learned not to be afraid to ask anything, even though that's a simple question.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • I took ownership of my internship project and followed all the guidelines to succeed. I was given reasonable deadlines, clear steps and I've been helped each time that was needed. I felt like part of the team and my mentors provided me with useful resources and tutorials. I've been exposed to the newest technologies and top-notch tools designed for efficiency and I really think I made an impact for the company in the future.

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • I've always received support when I needed and at that beginning I've been guided throughout the technologies that I've never used before with tutorials and peer programming. I've been exposed to other teams and met other interns within my organization. My mentors always allocated time for me whenever I needed and scheduling a meeting was very easy. I really felt supported and received the best guidance possible from my awesome mentors.

  • How would you rate the support and guidance from the wider team?

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • Considering my internship was completely remote, I didn't really feel that the social part was missing. There were a lot of social events with wider teams, special events organized for interns and grads. I've even met my colleagues in a non-work environment and they were really nice. Adobe supports charities and there are always news related to donations and actions that each employee can take. Also, Diversity and Inclusion is an essential part of the company's culture.

    Your Impressions

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • I absolutely loved my internship. Everything from the actual tasks I had to do, my teammates, my manager, other people within the company, they were outstanding. I'd really love to come back, especially for the culture and people that work here. It it a relaxed environment, with plenty of flexibility and work/life balance. This internship really exceeded my expectations and it was fully remote! I couldn't have wanted more from my first internship.

  • 7. Would you recommend Adobe to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 8. What advice would you give to others applying to Adobe
  • Don't be afraid to ask anything. Be yourself and make sure that you seem as friendly as possible. For the technical interviews, make sure you practice as much as possible related to algorithms, data structures and object oriented programming. These are the essentials but knowing more related to multithreading or distributed/parallel algorithms is a plus. They don't really have high expectations from interns but make sure you know at least the basics.
