- Research the industries in which our clients operate to support senior bankers’ marketing initiatives - Provide specified input for presentations and other document - Provide input and editing of Excel-based models, including application of various valuation techniques - Support the team in coordinating the transaction process during live transactions - Attend internal and external calls and meetings as appropriate Note that each day is very different. I was working on several projects with my team and sometimes with other teams within Rothschild.
Working in such a fast-paced environment, I learnt how to : - Prioritize and handle multiple tasks - Communicate with clients - Gather data from external platforms - Use Microsoft Office tools - PowerPoint, Excel, Word - Network and teamwork Also, I enhanced my technical knowledge in both Merger/Acquisition and debt advisory as I joined the Transport and Infrastructure team.
I received a lot of guidance at the beginning of the internship. But overall, I was given much more responsibilities than expected. I would say that if you prove that you can do your tasks well respecting tight deadlines, the team will recognize it and trust you even more.
My team supported and guided me during the whole internship. Every time I did not understand a word or the process, I could always ask questions. They actually encourage interns to ask as many questions as possible to make the most of the internship. I had a lot of catch up/explanation calls.
Really friendly and professional. People are genuinely nice. You can easily communicate with other teams as well.
I really enjoyed it and would recommend it to anyone who wants to work in investment banking. I had exposure on 6 deals/projects in the transport and infrastructure sector. That is really amazing for a 10-week internship!
