I was a part of the fixed income corporate actions team. I worked on a business project where I did data analysis on operational data and then set up webscrapers to increase coverage of our existing product. I also worked on writing a published article on the financial markets.
I developed my python data analysis skills, communication skills, presentation skills and commercial awareness skills.
I worked on a real business project which actually had a real tangible business impact. I was able to expand our coverage for our product by 30%. It was great to have this responsibility to add real value to the business.
I had a mentor and buddy assigned to me throughout the internship. I had a daily catch up with my mentor where we went to through the work that I've done and tackled any obstacles that I faced. I felt very well supported throughout the internship.
Bloomberg is a very collaborative and inclusive company. It is a very customer-centric and results driven. The general atmosphere was very friendly, but sometimes can be a bit quiet because a lot of people are still working from home.
I really liked it. There was a really a really big emphasis on diversity and inclusion. the internship was really really well planned and well organised.
