Overview
- Communicate with and present to team and stakeholders to push strategies - Develop and implement new methods
Skills
I developed a solid range of skills, from data / programming to softer skills such as presentation and communication. Being given relatively open-ended projects with the view to direct progress myself made learning and developing skills very straightforward as the needs and scopes of the projects changed
Responsibilities
Yes, I was given a lot of ownership of the projects assigned to me, as well as wider exposure to the various teams and business lines within the organisation. I never felt micromanaged which is another positive
Support & Guidance
The HR support was also great. Also had a very communicative manager and buddy so couldn't have had a much better experience in this regard. From conversations with other interns this may be quite team-dependent, though
Culture
Very friendly and casual, didn't feel intimidated asking anyone for a chat from any country. There can be some language barriers especially when communicating with the China teams but as a whole people tend to try and work to get around these.
Your Impressions
Great work, great team, great culture. Met and exceeded my expectations and definitely a solid company to work for as an intern or graduate.
Yes
Do be prepared to be independent and self-driven. Being so new as a company, processes aren't necessarily as defined (and rigid) as they are in other companies so even as a new entrant you have a chance to make your mark, an opportunity to make the most of early in your career
