    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • I attend a lot of team meetings keeping up to date with how our clients are doing and how live deals are progressing. I also attended client meetings on Teams where I was able to interact with the clients and ask questions. In terms of the admin side, it was mostly keeping the systems that we us up-to-date, as well as conducting research on prospects and helping out the associates.

    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • I was treated as one of the team and so was given quite a lot of responsibility from day one. Was able to present my ideas to the team easily, and the hierarchy at Lloyds isn't too structured - you can have a chat with anyone.

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • Not as much as it could have been, mostly due to the pandemic and everything being on Teams. The intern programme that ran alongside my role was very useful and helped me develop some soft skills. In terms of the role, it was more learning on the role yourself rather than too much oversight which I prefer. My line manager was always very helpful and willing to answer any questions.

  • How would you rate the support and guidance from the wider team?

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • Very chill, easy to work in. Most people don't take themselves too seriously and can have a good laugh, whilst also knowing when to get down to business. Hierarchy is not too strong - didn't feel like I was treated like an intern.
