    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • Administrative duties relating to Corporate & Individual Banking as well as regulatory work. Day to day activities will include communicating with customers (eg. taking calls or writing letters), supporting Account Managers and inputting into the banks system. Some typical intern roles also such as filing. Ultimately, you're able to take on more exciting tasks if you're proactive and just enquire about it!

  • The employees were all incredibly nice and supportive so I always had someone to go to. I was also assigned a branch mentor who was probably one of the kindest and most supportive person I've ever met!!

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • Good atmosphere - was able to settle in quickly and have a good laugh which made it even more enjoyable! Culture is that we serve our customers and therefore everyone is in it for the right reasons.

    Your Impressions

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • Enjoyed it very much. Pretty much what I expected going in, but ultimately the people working in Handelsbanken were incredibly nice and we had a good laugh at times too so that made it even better.

  • 8. What advice would you give to others applying to Handelsbanken
  • Just be yourself. Pro activity is encouraged - 'how much you get out is very much how much you put in' kind of idea. Culture is a huge thing at this business so I'd definitely research before hand and also understand how Handelsbanken is so different to other banks.
