  • The variety of tasks throughout the internship allowed me to develop many of my existing skills including: - Communication - Research & analysis - Writing - Teamwork It also enabled me to many learn new skills: - Creative marketing strategies e.g storytelling - Total Connections Planning - Identifying consumer insights and how these can be translated into a marketing campaign

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • Yes I was given responsibility and ownership of tasks relating to high-profile upcoming campaigns. I was also welcomed to important ad agency meetings and invited to give my feedback on proposed ideas.

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • Excellent support throughout the entirety of the internship. The internship leaders help you feel settled from day 1 by making sure to include lots of interactivity and teamwork activities. You are also given both a buddy and a mentor who check in with you regularly and are encouraged to ask them any questions you may have. Everyone at PepsiCo across all departments were eager & happy to give their time if you wanted something explained further.

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • Culture Encouraged to always achieve your best but never in an overly competitive way. Given tools to broaden your horizons such 'PEPU' which offered specific courses on every area of the company as well as general skills. Atmosphere Super friendly, inclusive and fun

    Your Impressions

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • I thoroughly enjoyed my internship at PepsiCo from start to finish. I learnt invaluable skills and knowledge about marketing and about FMCG companies in general. The internship was very well structured so that you have an induction into PepsiCo and each brand, then concentrate on marketing at PepsiCo in particular.

  • Consider how your skills/interests/passions align with the PepsiCo Mission and Values Research the PepsiCo UK brand portfolio, consider the perception and typical consumer of each brand Look at past PepsiCo product/brand campaigns and FMCG campaign/product innovation landscape in general - The Grocer is a great resource
