Overview
We mainly got to listen to several interesting presentations from people working in the company. We also got to participate in interactive exercises such as two toastmasters event and training exercises. We also had a lot of time to be dedicated to creating a group presentation.
Skills
Yes, I have bettered my understanding of Bloomberg’s business model and financial markets. As well as learning how to use the terminal and some basic functions.
Business Insight
It was great. We even got the opportunity to talk to some interns who had participated in the previous insight week and they gave us some really useful tips. Furthermore, it showed how Bloomberg is a company where no matter what your degree is in and where you started you will be able to move in between roles according to what you decide.
Culture
It seemed great. All the people working at Bloomberg were extra friendly and nice. They all were super available to respond to our many many questions. It feels as a company it doesn’t really push people towards working the usual extreme finance hours, but rather focuses on increasing employees productivity by pushing health and philanthropic activities.
Your Impressions
I enjoyed it a lot. I partook in the insight week online, so surely my extent was limited to how fun it can be to be sitting in front of a computer with 34 degrees Celsius outside. However, the format, the people from Bloomberg and the other insight week participant made it a memorable experience.
Yes
Make sure you try to show them you are interested in the job and the company itself. When participating insight weeks or during the interview process shine bright, but don’t try to outshine others by being rude. Just be yourself and do your research about the company and I’m sure you will impress them no matter what.
