  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • No day was the same for me. My manager truly tailored the role to my goals and aspirations and it kept moving from one project to another. Below are some of the activities that I engaged with throughout my placement. Analysed voluminous data to create a monthly metrics report, entailing performance insights on marketing channels for regular senior leadership team reviews. Delivered high-value email-campaigns under tight deadlines whilst working with cross-functional teams such as my alliance partners, creative agencies, medical team and other external stakeholders. Used A/B testing to select an optimal marketing channel mix for providing national visibility to sales representative led meetings, thus exceeding local benchmarks by 220%. Designed a brand website by learning new software tools and implementing an engaging UX journey whilst delivering this global project within 20 days. Led on a project to increase Pfizer sign-ups to company's email newsletters and embedded track links for effective mapping of success KPIs. Successfully contributed to closing the Gender Pay Gap by 5% through brainstorming on ideas and implementing them with the Diversity and Inclusion team.

  • New skills such as - Cross-functional collaboration in a company with creative agencies, medical approvers, build team and other team members. Thriving in autonomy. Working virtually! Developed skills such as - Presenting, taking lead on projects, communication, building your network.

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • Yes tons! Whilst I have worked extensively across projects my manager made sure to ease me into this high level of responsibility over a period of time. This is why I never felt I was thrown into the deep end and was able to gradually build my skills and confidence to lead on projects such as running email campaigns, building a global website, creating metrics dashboards, etc. With my placement nearing to an end my manager is nervous with the amount of projects that I have led on which will be going over to him!

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • I have always received support from colleagues at Pfizer and many times from my manager even before asking for it. Whether it has been to have a quick call to ask some questions or have impromptu meetings to discuss projects for working out a solution to take it forward, everyone at Pfizer makes time for you.

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • I have absolutely loved the culture! Definitely a company I would like to come back to in the future. I think Pfizer is certainly one of those companies that not only talk about supporting employees with having a work life balance but also implement action and support you with resources to make that happen. I definitely see a strong drive within the company to maintain good health and wellbeing of all colleagues.

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • 10/10! I couldn't have asked a better place to do my placement! Equipped me with some invaluable business acumen and work experience which has made me feel confident as I step into final year, looking for graduate opportunities.

  • When making your application focus on the people and purpose aspect that Pfizer really values and employees harness to thrive in. The group task is usually a survival task. When preparing for the interview, match your experience with Pfizer's 4 values: job, excellence, equity and courage. Think about experiences that displays these 4 values, refer to Pfizer's bold moves objects (available online).
