  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • I was an intern on the Commodity Structured Trade Finance team. On a daily basis, I have been able to gain a deep understanding of credit analysis as well as exposure to clients in the commodities space. As a summer analyst, I have studied financial statements of clients to draw conclusions. I have been able to get involved in client meetings which has helped me understand how MUFG can help their clients. MUFG has a huge focus on ESG so I have helped out in some ESG related projects. Overall, every day is interesting!

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • I have learnt many skills such as how to distil complex pieces of information into smaller readable chunks so it can be easily understood by team members, clients, and others across the Bank. The training provided by MUFG has helped enhance my financial market and product knowledge. As the training was tailor-made, I was able to understand the different products that MUFG offer. My excel ability has also improved significantly over the past 10 weeks!
