    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • This role predominantly focused upon familiarity with regulatory frameworks that govern embedded systems and understanding how these can be applied to a range of products. On occasion one would be tasked with the responsibility to research new technologies that could provide Rolls-Royce with new security capabilities and also look into new security oriented working methods. Each day there are a range of meetings that reiterate the long term focuses of the team and tasks that can be done to enable resilient and secure products.

    Your Impressions

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • I thoroughly enjoyed my summer internship, the learning experience (despite being less academic than university) was invaluable and will enable future endeavours. It provided a great opportunity to gain an insight into a company with a global responsibility and diverse portfolio. At such a early stage of my university experience it is great to have a realistic vision of what my future may look like at similar companies.

  • 8. What advice would you give to others applying to Rolls-Royce
  • Ensure that your soft skillset is refined, Rolls-Royce strive to have employees that are both intellectual and socially aware. I believe that it's important to give your all during the assessment centre as Rolls-Royce allow opportunities to cascade and a summer internship can easily develop into a future graduate program or other opportunity.
