I work on innovative projects aiming to automate parts of the publishing process to reduce overall costs to the business. Day-to-day, I will monitor the progress of any projects I am currently working on, provide updates to the EU team on the progress of these projects, coordinate the EU Publishing team's efforts on particular Pfizer products, meetings with colleagues across all of our sites globally, answering queries from colleagues relating to the projects I am working on etc.
- Organisational skills - managing a diverse workload and working on numerous projects simultaneously - Excel skills - data analysis and metrics analysis - Confidence - public speaking - Commercial awareness
My responsibility has increased substantially throughout the year, starting off with the basics of learning the publishing process and minor responsibilities. At the end of my placement, I feel confident in my own ability to solve problems myself with the occasional need for support from someone with more industry knowledge. The level of responsibility over the last few months of my placement has been great for me.
My manager offered excellent support when I was first settling in and all colleagues have been keen to help if I was unsure on anything or needed support. The support/guidance has been the right level for me.
Amazing company culture - one which has made me genuinely proud to work for Pfizer. So many amazing opportunities to get involved with things outside of your role, including diversity and inclusion initiatives, volunteering, colleague resource groups and many more. It feels like the company genuinely value its employees which I didn't expect to feel in such a large company. This year has been more rewarding because of this.
I have really enjoyed the placement and all the opportunities I have had because of it, especially the diversity initiatives I have had the chance to work on and the volunteering I have been able to do. I have missed the social aspect of working but this has only been because the placement has been virtual because of covid.
