    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • Been involved on a Marketing Authorisation Application and given lead roles within this. Been given the opportunity to branch into other departments. General daily activities including checking emails and replying to colleagues, however often each day is different and brings new things to do and new projects to get involved in. Lots of coordinating between people involved, in order to make sure everything is submitted on time.

    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • In particular I have improved on my confidence and communication/networking. This is due to doing presentations through out the year and having to reach out to lots of new people and getting to know them. This will go on to help me in my final year of university and my future career. I have also learnt lots of industry specific skills, showing me that I would be able to work here in the future.

    Responsibilities

  • At the start I was given limited responsibility and only did basic work. However by the end I was named lead on multiple projects that I was coordinating (with the help of my supervisor if needed).

  • Please rate how meaningful the work you were doing was

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • Both my supervisors were super helpful but in different ways. My Line manager was always available to answer any questions that I had and help me with university work, however I didn't do much work with him. Meanwhile I worked with another lady, who was really good at giving me responsibility and knowing what capability I had to do work independently and with help.

  • How would you rate the support and guidance from the wider team?

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • Everyone at the company has been super friendly, my entire placement was virtual so I didn't get the opportunity to meet people in person, but everyone always answered any questions I had, and always offered to talk more. Despite being online there were lots of events to attend to create a nice company atmosphere.

  • I really enjoyed my placement, the work was really interesting and I liked the level of independence I had. The company culture was great and I loved the values they stood for. If a job opened up there in a similar area I would definitely apply.

  • 8. What advice would you give to others applying to Pfizer
  • Be yourself, make sure to try and have something that makes you stand out like a hobby. Be chatty and honest. Make sure you do your research into the company i.e. the ethos and products they have developed. When applying to Pfizer I believe it is critical to have an interest in the wellbeing of others and knowing that what you are doing will make a difference in peoples lives.
