Overview
I was a summer intern placed on two desks at Nomura. This involved learning from professionals in global markets about their roles and completing projects assigned by them. I had the opportunity to network with other professionals at Nomura.
Skills
I have improved my communication and network skills by meeting many new people and building a business connection. I have massively increased my excel and python skills by applying these programmes to my project work.

Responsibilities
Quite a bit. About as much as could be given.

Support & Guidance
When online it was harder to provide guidance so this was less common. But for my second in person rotation I had almost daily guidance from my team.

Culture
Everybody was very welcoming and all the team had a strong relationship. The atmosphere was very conducive to creativity and discussing ideas openly.

Your Impressions
It was quite stressful networking with people and worrying about getting a job offer. However, I enjoyed my work particularly when I knew what I was doing and I could receive guidance from my manager.

Yes
Try to be as open as possible and engage in as much discussion with the team as possible. Go in with an open mind and spread yourself widely in the business.
