Overview
The Insight Week was a 5-day programme. Each day had a packed timetable, containing seminars from different employees at Bloomberg and also 'project time' dedicated to the planning of a group project due to be presented at the end of the week. We gained exposure to a variety of different departments who explained how their respective roles fit into Bloomberg's purpose.
Skills
Developed skills: public speaking, purposeful questioning and teamwork. New skills: financial knowledge, practical skills on the Bloomberg terminal and in-depth knowledge of departments.
Business Insight
Having a holistic overview of Bloomberg helped me better understand the key stakeholders in the business.
Culture
At first, I thought that there was a very formal and serious atmosphere. However, the Team Leaders showed such personality, passion and encouragement that they prompted me to feel like the company culture was much more supportive and less competitive than I had anticipated.

I very much enjoyed the Insight Week and would definitely recommend it to a peer.

When applying, try to find an edge which makes you stand out from the competition. Once you are in, make sure you show personality. Talk to the Team Leaders and your fellow interns during breaks and show a real interest in learning as much as you can.
