Working alongside farm consultants. Main tasks were to use 'The Land App' software to map BPS areas of farms. Also had the opportunity to go on a few farm visits to analyse what countryside stewardship options could be incorporated at the farm to enable farmers to receive a grant. Lots of focus on countryside stewardship at present due to BPS being phased out and being replaced by the ELMS scheme.
Yes - learnt how to use 'The Land App' software, learnt how to communicate with staff at all levels (expected to work closely alongside directors), and gained an insight into all of the departments within Savills via regular Teams Departmental Overviews.
It was interesting - I didn't know how big the company was and how many different areas it covers.
All of the staff at Savills are extremely helpful and take the time to work closely with you and teach you small aspects of the role. The company culture is definitely to recruit hard working, confident individuals who can provide the best possible service to customers.
I enjoyed the insight a lot - it has helped me to develop knowledge of the arable sector which will later benefit me in my career going forwards.
Yes
Definitely apply and be yourself - be confident and research the company well.
