  • 1. Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
  • As part of the three day insight, we had talks from department heads, associates and analysts about their own roles and responsibilities in the bank. As well as this, we learnt a lot about Deutsche Bank itself, as a firm; including why it would be a nice place to work in the future. Best of all, we got to experience completing tasks which might be given to us at a mock assessment centre.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I learnt a lot about how to interact with peers or colleagues over Zoom/Skype in order to still come across friendly and confident. My technical skills with banking have also been developed throughout the programme due to the help of the training programme.

  • 3. What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
  • It was very interesting as I had no prior knowledge about banking or how investment banks worked until taking part in the programme. It was also extremely insightful and great how we could have Q and A sessions in small groups with employees of the bank.

  • 5. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • I enjoyed it very much, especially working with 4 others on the last day making a video about why we should encourage more girls to look for careers in the banking sector. It was much better and engaging than I expected which was a nice surprise and everyone was very friendly.

  • Yes

  • 8. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Deutsche Bank
  • Make sure to have researched into the bank and what their values are; make sure they are aligned with your own so you think that it might be a place you would like to work in the future. In interviews, be confident but also don't be afraid to say that you're not sure in some instances - they are also an opportunity to ask questions! Also, familiarise yourself with basic banking definitions e.g. bonds, equities.
