    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • I had a lot of support and guidance, not always from my line manager - I often had to find this elsewhere. But it was always around. Had a mentor figure, and there were intern spotters who supported us. Also had business coaching throughout the year as well. Always encouraged to seek advice if not sure.

I also got to do the UK challenge with Gymshark in aid of charity. Also had company-wide days off for mental health and mental health festivals. Christmas events and also summer parties. Diversity event which I DJed for to promote our next steps into raising conversations. Gym is also widely encouraged to take part in. Outside of work, I exercise/DJ/Draw/Cook/Socailise

    Your Impressions

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • I loved my placement. It has been the most amazing learning experience where I have learnt so much about myself as well as the Creative Industry. I have been able to action ideas that I have had from the ground, and also work on some very high-profile athlete & brand campaigns. I feel I am leaving the job with an entire new confidence to enter the creative world. Company culture has been amaizng. I feel a part of the family, and have been able to DJ and bring this hobby into the role. Mental health is a priority and I feel very looked after. In the last month, internal company structure has felt a bit chaotic and I have been given a lot of responsibility that I sometimes didn't have the skills to comfortably handle. I would love to come back to Gymshark, but not straight away. I would like to acquire experience elsewhere first.

  • Yes

  • 8. What advice would you give to others applying to Gymshark
  • I didn't have an assessment centre. Culture, values and family are essential at Gymshark. You need to love the brand first, skills come second. A keenness to learn is essential, they will help you upskill if needed. Passion for the brand and the work you are doing is key, there are so many people out there you need to explain why you are so different. Treat the interview like a conversation. Express your ideas and what you are going to bring. I'd love to have known this more, to not have thought I need to fit a gymshark mould and being who I am is enough!! Go in open minded, dont expect to do groundbreaking work on day 1 - you need time to get to know the brand
