Overview
On a day-to-day basis, my tasks would vary a lot. I could be creating pitch presentation, teaser documents and management presentation for clients. I could be in client meetings or I could be creating company profiles and complicated excels for trading comps or backups for presentations I am creating.
Skills
My excel and presentation skills have improved dramatically as well as my overall understanding of financial institutions and how they operate. I would also say that my interpersonal skills have improved as there have been a huge amount of opportunities to talk to people in the firm both at the analyst level and all the way up to MDs and Group Heads.
Responsibilities
I was surprised by how much responsibility I was given. Some examples are: I was individually responsible for sending tracker documents to clients every week and I was given lots of tasks which ended up going straight to the clients.
Support & Guidance
A huge amount. There is always someone to talk to if I have any issues. Welfare and mental health is a key focus point at the firm and you can really see it.
Culture
Inclusive and collaborative with a focus on delivering results while maintaining integrity and character
Your Impressions
I enjoyed it a huge amount. Brilliant team and very supportive network. Everyone helps you learn as much as possible.
Yes
Apply as early as possible and try and talk to people in the firm to learn more about the company and the people you want to work with.
