    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • As a management consulting intern, my main roles were supporting my team in delivering client excellence, liaising with the clients, completing key training activities and building my professional network. My day to day is fairly varied, with meetings and calls with my team and others from the Firm, as well as other work to support the progression of the project. My internship began with a week's induction which was mainly focussed around upskilling, to ensure I was prepared to begin client-facing work.

    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • I have developed many new skills including taking notes in meetings, learning how to use the google suite apps, creative thinking, cloud technology training. I have developed my collaboration skills, communication skills. I have also worked on my email communications. I have learnt how to build meaningful relationships and I have developed my networking skills. I have learnt a lot from others in my office, my project teams and I have got to know a lot more about PwC's values, purpose and strategy.

  • I was heavily involved in the project work, which gave me great exposure to how consultants operate. I was given meaningful tasks within my projects and colleagues were proactive in ensuring I had the opportunity to participate in wider projects external to the project allocated. I was also given the responsibility of ensuring all work was filed correctly, creating new documents and developing new slides. I was also given the opportunity to run some sessions for my team and to liaise with the client.
